Features

What your AI assistant can do, and what it never does alone.

Built for bookkeepers who look after many QuickBooks Online Canada clients, and for business owners who want answers about their own books. The AI reads and drafts; people decide.

01

Connect your own AI assistant

Sign in, no keys
Connect Claude Code, Claude Desktop or ChatGPT by signing in. The consent screen names the person and lets them pick the firm.
Your subscription, not ours
The AI runs on each person’s own Claude or ChatGPT subscription. There is no AI charge from us.
Your language
Claude and ChatGPT answer in your language.
Revocable
Connections are listed in Settings and can be removed at any time. A static token is available for scripts.
02

    • ask_owner
    • list_questions
    • draft_rule
    • list_rules
  7. 07

    Approve, only if allowed

The assistant can approve only the kinds of change the master bookkeeper has allowed — off by default. Voids and deletes never.

    • list_pending_drafts
    • approve_draft

Tool names and results are in English. The assistant answers in the bookkeeper’s language.

03

Sales-tax review

Every transaction from the last 12 months, for every connected client.

Tax amount does not match the code
The tax recorded differs from what the tax code gives by more than one cent.
Missing tax code
A transaction that should carry a tax code has none.
Rate out of date
Checked per transaction against the official rate on its date, and per company tax setting against today’s rate.
Unusual — check
A tax code that is unusual for the company’s province. Never called wrong: place of supply can be a legitimate reason.
Uncategorized
Transactions still sitting in an uncategorized account.

Which taxes are checked, by province

Province or territoryTaxes checked
QuébecGST + QST
Ontario, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward IslandHST
British Columbia, Saskatchewan, ManitobaGST + PST
Alberta, Yukon, Northwest Territories, NunavutGST

The province comes from the company’s QuickBooks address. If it isn’t there, the client shows “Province unknown” and province checks are skipped.

Official rates used

TaxRate
GST5%
HST — Ontario13%
HST — Nova Scotia14% (from 2025-04-01)
HST — New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island15%
PST — British Columbia7%
PST — Saskatchewan6%
PST — Manitoba7%
QST9.975%

Rates are kept with their history and effective dates, so older transactions are checked against the rate that applied on the day. Last checked 2026-10-22 against canada.ca, gov.bc.ca, saskatchewan.ca, gov.mb.ca and revenuquebec.ca.

04

What gets a draft fix, and what is flagged

Draft fixes

  • Expenses
  • Bills
  • Vendor credits
  • Deposits

Flagged with an explanation

  • Invoices
  • Sales receipts
  • Journal entries

These are fixed by the bookkeeper in QuickBooks.

Closed periods are listed separately and left out of totals. The app can’t change them.

05

Clean-up, Questions and rules

Suggested fixes
From your saved rules or the client’s history.
Questions instead of guesses
When the app isn’t sure, it asks. An answer can become a saved rule.
Other checks
Possible duplicates, unusual amounts and a month-end checklist.
06

Approvals and the activity log

Every change is a draft
Nothing reaches QuickBooks until a bookkeeper approves it in the app.
Checked before it’s written
Drafts show the expected GST/QST, are flagged if QuickBooks computes a different tax, and are marked stale if the transaction changed.
“The AI may approve”
Per kind of change, off by default, and only the master bookkeeper can turn it on. Voids and deletes are only ever approved by a person.
Activity log
Who did what, per person, downloadable as CSV.
07

Your team

Invite bookkeepers by email, remove them, or transfer the master role. Restrict a bookkeeper to their assigned clients — the restriction applies everywhere, including their AI assistant. Freelancers can belong to several firms with one login.

08

The Clients page

The first page after sign-in lists every client with its province, number of tax issues, uncategorized count, issues in closed periods and sync status — up to date, first sync running, needs reconnecting, disconnected or sync problem — with a Review button.

09

Summaries, reports and exports

A Summary for each client — cash in bank, credit cards owed, this month, net so far — and a searchable transactions list.

  • Profit and Loss
  • Balance Sheet
  • Cash Flow
  • Trial Balance
  • General Ledger
  • Aged Receivables
  • Aged Payables
  • Tax Summary
  • Transaction List

Export to CSV, Excel or PDF, in French or English.

10

French and English

The whole app — screens, emails, errors, sign-up, billing and exports — in both languages. Invitations are sent in French and English.

What it doesn’t do

  • It isn’t an accountant and doesn’t give tax advice.
  • It doesn’t file returns, run payroll or do year-end.
  • QuickBooks Online Canada only — not QuickBooks Desktop or Xero.
  • No mobile apps and no in-app AI chat.
